Description: Overview: The Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program allows states and local governments to support a broad range of activities to prevent and control crime and to improve the criminal justice system. U.S. Department of Justice awards funds to state and certain local jurisdictions based on population and crime rates. As the state recipient of these funds in one of three categories: 1. Drug Task Forces 2. Restricted (under $10,000 proposed total project cost) 3. Unrestricted (over $10,000 proposed total project cost) Eligibility: Eligible applicants are state and local government agencies and not-for-profit agencies.
