Harold Rogers Prescription Drug Monitoring Program

Overview:

The primary purpose of the Harold Rogers Presecription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) is to enhance the capacity of regulatory and law enforcement agencies and public health officials to collect and analyze controlled sunstance prescription data and other scheduled listed chemical products through a centralized database administered by an authorized state agency.

Eligibility:

- Applicants are limitied to state governments that have in place an enabling statue or regulation requiring the submission of controlled substance prescription data to an authorized state agency.

Funding Priorities:

- Planning: Funds may be used to assist states in planning for a data collection and analysis system. Activities can include creating a planning advisory committee and ensuring key stakeholder in the state are involved in the planning process

     Program Details: 18 months, up to $50,000

- Implementation: Funds may be used to plan, establish and build a data collection and analysis system; develop an infrastructure to support programmatic activities; facilitate the exchange of information and collected prescription data and other schedule listed chemical products among states; facilitate the establishment of collaboration; develop a training program for system users; produce and disseminate educational materials; and assess the efficiency and effectiveness of the program.

     Program Details: 24 months, up to $400,000

- Enhancement: Funds may be used to enhance the functioning of a data collection and analysis system; enhance an existing educational or training program; support collaborations with law enforcement and prosecutors or public health officials; support collaboration with treatment providers and drug courts;  and facilitate electronic information sharing among states.
