Description: Overview: The Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety (“GOHS”) is requesting submission of proposals relating to highway safety issues from state, county, municipal, university, tribal, and non-profit agencies for the 2012 Federal Fiscal Year (“FY”) which commences on October 1, 2011 and ends on September 30, 2012. Deadline and Application Instruction: This year, FY 2012 proposals will be submitted online utilizing the new GOHS e-grants system, http://egrants.azgohs.gov. Training will be provided over the next month on how to utilize this system. The e-grants system will open for proposals on February 1, 2011. All proposals must be submitted no later than March 18, 2011 to be considered for funding. Grant Targeting: The FY 2012 Highway Safety Plan will specifically target the following enforcement areas and proposals addressing these areas will be given priority: 1. Impaired Driving DUI/Drug Enforcement (overtime and equipment) Youth Alcohol Enforcement (402, 410 and EUDL funding) Training (Phlebotomy, HGN, DRE, ARIDE, etc…) 2. Speed & Police Traffic Services Aggressive Driving Exceeding Maximum Posted Speed School Zones Red Light Running Distracted Driving 3. Occupant Protection Seat Belts Child Safety Seats/Booster Seats Proposals will also be accepted that address the following program areas: Accident Investigation Emergency Medical Services Motorcycle Safety Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Traffic Records Application Overview
