R = Rewards: Tips for Achieving Grant Success

The Grant Application Process can be intimidating, especially when it seems your department’s efforts have turned up fruitless in the past. Here at PoliceGrantsHelp we hope to give you not only encouragement, but the proper guidance and resources to keep the Grant Application Process positive and most important; rewarding.

Please use these valuable pointers to ensure you are taking the necessary steps toward Grant Success!

Research, Research, Research. While this may sound like a daunting task, learning as much as you can about your desired grant programs will be helpful throughout the entire process.

Review the ‘Rejects’. Yes, bringing back your refused proposals can now come in handy! Have a reviewer give feedback as to why your previous submissions did not yield success. Simple adjustments can often make a world of difference.

Requirements. Be sure to ‘personalize’ your grant application by customizing it to the grant programs you wish to apply. It is important to include only the essential materials specified by the funder.

Reach. Be sure you are not limiting your department’s chances by relying on one grant program. Extend your reach out to several appropriate sources. Pursuing a larger scope of funds will not only give you more options, but hopefully result in more funds!

Requests. Adhering to all requests of the funder is a must. Always supply the exact information they are asking for and pay attention to detail. Being thorough and meticulous while undertaking the grant writing process can only help ensure you get what you’re asking for.

References. Include letters of recommendation that apply your department’s intentions shall you receive the desired funds. Be sure to express your department’s commitment to an efficiently aggregated plan should you be granted the requested resources.
